Prison Break has been the most up-to-date drama that I have liked. Prison Break is about that a guy, Michael Scofield, a structure engineer, holds up a bank to be imprisoned with a hope to help his older brother Lincoln Burrows, convicted of a mortal crime he didn’t commit, to get out of the prison and escape the death sentence. Before Michael got in jail, he got himself tattooed with hidden information informing the way to break out of the prison. In spite that with such a high IQ and strategic thinking Michael had had every contingency as well as everything else mapped out to make the plan perfectly possible, once he finds himself inside the walls there are a number of things that block their breaking out; other inmates, officers, riots, fighting and more to mention a few. While this is one story in Prison Break, another story is happening outside the walls. Lincoln Burrows was convicted of a crime of homicide for killing the vice president’s brother. Everybody including the courts at first believed he was guilty as the evidence was there. But with Lincoln’s claims that he was innocent and some discrepancy between what they thought was true and what really happened, not only Michael but Lincoln ’s ex-girl friend, Veronica Donovan, a lawyer, did start to take some actions to find out exculpatory evidence to exonerate him. As Veronica tracked down the Lincoln’s case, something big behind the scene starts to move to hamper her from knowing the truth, even try to kill her. Will Michael make it outside the walls with his brother? Will Veronica be successful in proving that he is innocent? Will there be no way for Lincoln to avoid the execution? You never know till the end. Everything that is happening both inside and outside the walls is all ingeniously connected. All the actors are perfectly matched to their characters. Filmed primarily at a real penitentiary as well as structured as each episode has a part of the escape plan. Those things, I think, are contributing to its attraction of views’ eyes to an enormous extent. You can’t miss every single scene, for every single scene has a clue of what’s going to happen next. Once you start watching it, you can’t stop watching it in spades. |
